Take the trolley
Two new trolleys set to start rolling
this summer promise to be equal parts public transportation and guided tour of downtown Rapid City and various points of interest.
Each trolley will hold 32 passengers and will be accessible for people with disabilities. The city will likely operate one trolley on any given day, though both might operate simultaneously as part of special events.
A general route under consideration would highlight various points of interest on a continuous loop during the day and then become a more central downtown circulator in the evening.
The trolley rides are tentatively scheduled to begin by Memorial Day. Cost would be $1 for a ticket that allows a rider to use the trolley all day.
