World comes to Belle for annual All-Car Rally

Hot cars, hot chili and a warm reception are on tap for two days of activity in Belle Fourche for the 19th annual All-Car Rally.

The annual rally has something for everyone — from food and music to a chance to brag a bit on cars from antique to just unique.

The fun begins Saturday, June 9. Cars are judged through the day. Sunday includes the ongoing auto Show-N-Shine registration and the S.D. State Championship at the Center of the Nation Chili Cook-off, both at Herrmann Park just a few blocks east of Highway 85.

The chili event includes divisions for formal red and green competition chili and for the less formal “Cowboy Chili” with beef and beans.

The day has something for everyone of all ages.

There is food and live music all day, a chance to taste top competition chili, odd games such as a jalapeno-eating contest — and some of the region’s best show cars. There’s music and just a traditional day in the park checking out cars from antiques to rods, outback specials to custom vans.

The Belle Fourche show has drawn spectators from all over the world.

It also is part of the Black Hills Overdrive, a program that offers car enthusiasts some organized fun and a schedule of events to give a bit more purpose to cruising through the Hills area.

More information on the program is available at the Belle Fourche Chamber of Commerce.

Black Hills Overdrive, the all-car rally that unites communities in the Black Hills region, is set for June 8-10.

The weekend features club rallies, organized drives, fun events and show competitions for auto buffs, all set in the beautiful Black Hills.
